I had been searching for a sushi school here in Houston, TX but couldn't find any. Then I came across Sushi Chef Institute's website and found out about their online training. Initially, I didn't exactly know what to expect from an online culinary training. But after doing the online interview with Chef Andy, I was impressed about how the program was designed for a beginner like me. Throughout the course, Chef Andy handled the instruction professionally, with precise detail, and in a gentle manner. The online training isn't just your typical run-of-the-mill crash course as it works around your schedule and at your own pace. It gave me the time to really practice the lessons without being pressured to finish the course quickly. What I like most about the program is that Chef Andy went all out in demonstrating each lesson and did not leave out any details. My next goal is to go on to the next level, Professional Course I, when I get the chance to go to L.A. for a couple of months. Kudos also goes out to Tiana Pennington for being on top of the students' needs and requests. I would highly recommend this school to anyone aspiring to become a sushi chef. This online class has been a wonderful experience for me. With the extra help of DVD's and textbook as study materials, I have been able to get more information. The one on one online class with Chef Andy, he is always able to make a comment and correction during the class. I have learned a lot of sushi knowledge and skills from this online class.
